Our Favorite Food and Wellness Podcasts

The title says it all. If you’ve been wanting to hop onto the podcast train but don’t know where to start, look no further! 51% of the U.S. population have listened to a podcast and of that, 80% listen to an average of seven shows per week. There is a podcast for everything, from two sisters re-reading the entire Harry Potter Series, to a podcast actually named, This Might Get Weird. Not to mention the plethora of food and wellness podcasts. Since there are so many to choose from, we've handpicked six of our favorites to share with our fellow aficionados. So, travel onward and listen to your heart’s content.

Happier with Gretchen Rubin

Who better to start a podcast on happiness than the woman who literally wrote the book on it. Gretchen Rubin, author of New York Times #1 Bestseller, The Happiness Project, gives insightful and practical ways to bring happiness into your everyday life. Because life is too short not to be happy every day.

Life Kit

Don’t worry about not having the answer. Life Kit by NPR has your back by giving valuable tips from, picking the right lightbulb, to talking to your kids about death. With NPR’s deep expertise, this podcast gives anyone the tools to make smart life decisions. It is the never-ending handbook to being human.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

Jay Shetty is more than just a podcast host. After his perspective on life was turned around by a monk’s speech at his university, Jay decided to change the course of his life and become a monk in India. Between the ages of  18 and 26, Jay learned the wisdom of selflessness, service and kindness. Motivated to share this knowledge, Jay found ways to spread the message on his podcast On Purpose.

The Doctor’s Farmacy

This podcast meets at the intersection of food and wellness and discusses food’s impact on the way we feel.  Dr. Hyman “believes we all deserve vibrant health and happiness” and we can get there by eating real food. If you need some culinary guidance without the nutritionist fees, check out this podcast.

Burnt Toast

Food is more than just something we eat. Food is a cornerstone of culture and community. Burnt Toast is for those of you who like knowing weird and interesting facts to share at the dinner table. This podcast is highly digestible (pun intended) and can be consumed in under thirty minutes, making it easy to learn about food’s past, present and future.

Eater’s Digest

Warning: Do not listen to this podcast on an empty stomach. Just like The Great British Bakeoff and Chef’s Table, this podcast will spark culinary inspiration without the visuals. Take yourself on a food journey and hear stories from kitchens around the world. Hosted by Amanda Kludt and Daniel Geneen, this podcast will keep you updated on all things food.
