The Summer of Tasty Cause Marketing Campaigns

Food brands are serving up marketing with a side of ethics, and so far, it’s working. We appreciate all of the treats and companies using their influence to bring good into this world. Plus, cause marketing is a sweet deal for business too.

Through this approach to marketing, companies appeal to top talent and create more profits by attracting investors and customers. In fact...

60% of consumers look for brands that support causes, and 70% say they would pick a brand that supports a cause over one that doesn't.

It’s definitely easy to talk the talk, but these companies are putting their money where their mouth (literally) is and supporting meaningful causes.

Between the fabulous Pride food available in June, and the ongoing cause marketing brands are using to differentiate themselves, our hearts are completely full (and so are our bellies).

Here are some of our favorite campaigns that served up the goodness this summer.

Smirnoff

Smirnoff released a limited edition “love wins” bottle for Pride showcasing 34 real couples from across the United States. The rainbow-colored bottle was not only aesthetically pleasing, Smirnoff also donated $1 per bottle to the Human Rights Campaign. We’ll raise our glasses to that!

This Bar Saves Lives

This Bar Saves Lives is a snack bar company, whose mission is to end childhood malnutrition worldwide. For every bar sold, This Bar Saves Lives donates food aid to their NGO partners, such as Action Against Hunger and Second Mile Haiti. So far this company has saved over 6,500 children which we find incredible, bar none.

Shake Shack

Shake Shack released a limited-edition Pride shake, made of strawberries and lemonade, and topped with whip cream and rainbow sprinkles. Yum. To make this deal extra-sweet, they donated $1 from every shake sold to The Trevor Project. Leave it to this iconic burger joint to shake things up!

Ben & Jerry’s

Ben & Jerry’s teamed up with Stephen Colbert to create the Americone Dream ice cream. This frozen treat is packed full of deliciousness, like fudge-covered waffle cones and caramel swirls. If hearing that doesn't make you want to go grab a pint (or 10) – knowing the proceeds are donated to causes supported by the Stephen Colbert Americone Dream Fund just might. Activism in the form of ice cream? We’ll take a scoop!

Samuel Adams

Raise your glass to Samuel Adams, who introduced a new beer for Pride at their Boston location. It was a blackberry basil lime gose appropriately titled “Love Conquers Ale” and we definitely want a glass.....or two.
